A video playlist link will be shared with you immediately after indenturing. Please watch the playlist as it will cover all the information regarding your "Next Steps" now that you are a "Union Apprentice".

1. Complete a Health Clearance Form - Print this form ---> HEALTH CLEARANCE FORM
Your primary care physician or family doctor needs to sign this form. This is very important and must be completed before attending training classes. Schedule your doctors appointment now. If you have no insurance. You can go to an urgent care and pay a fee.

2. Submit your completed Health Clearance Form
Once you have been indentured, your name and contact information will be shared with the Hawaii Community College EdVance Office (808) 934-2700.
The college office will then send you an email with the Med+Proctor set up instructions. This is the site where all Medical Documents will be accepted.
This process is between you and the college office. Please be sure there is no outstanding college financial obligations as you will need to attend to repayment obligations before registering for apprenticeship.
Our Training office does not handle this process, but will need you to complete this in order for apprenticeship to register you. If you are not eligible for registration, you will fall into non-compliance and may be canceled from the apprenticeship and the union.
The Apprenticeship does not receive your documents. It must be upload to the Med+Proctor Website.

3. HCATF MOBILE APP SET UP: Download the HCATF App in your devices app store. Your UBC Number will be emailed to you in 7 business days after indenturing. Or your Training Coordinator will send that to you when it becomes available. Please watch the video labeled "Mobile App- How to file".

4. Financial Assistance for Start Up Tools, Clothing and Book Fee's are available through "American Job Centers and Alu Like". Please watch the video in the playlist labeled "Financial Assistance"

5. School registration notices and reminders are sent out in June and November every year. Please watch the video in the playlist labeled "School Registration and Book Purchases"

DPRS (MONTHLY WORK HOURS FILING) VIA HCATF MOBILE APP 

DOWNLOAD THE "HCATF" MOBILE APP FROM YOUR SMART PHONES
Google playstore (Android) or Apps (IPhone)
1. CREATE NEW ACCOUNT- "Sign Up"
2. ENTER UBC NUMBER
3. LOG IN
The app is very simple to migrate. Please contact me should you have issues. Please remember you must "CREATE AN ACCOUNT"
The app was built to save your progress. You can enter hours daily and click "SAVE". And those hours will be saved until you log back in.
At the end of the month- DO NOT CLICK SUBMIT UNTIL YOU DOUBLE CHECK THAT ALL THE INFORMATION IS CORRECT. WE WILL NOT CREDIT OR FIX INCORRECT ENTRIES ONCE SUBMITTED.

KONA: CARPENTER INSTRUCTOR POSITION (CLOSED 11/2024 Updated)
Qualifications: Must be journey-level or higher with a minimum of 5 years on the job/fieldwork experience. Must be computer literate. Able to guide and instruct in a classroom environment. Must be a member of "The Hawaii Regional Council of Carpenters" or a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters. Please submit your resume to mhamatake@hicarpenterstraining.com

HILO: CARPENTER INSTRUCTOR POSITION (CLOSED 11/2024 Updated)
Qualifications: Looking for a well-rounded Carpenter Journeyman. Resume should reflect experience. Must be computer literate. Able to guide and instruct in a classroom environment. SUBSTITUTE POSITIONS:
